2012: (2009)

2012: ''Brilliant.''

To put in it one word: "Brilliant!" 2012 is by far the best movie I have seen in 2009. Roland Emmerich has shown audiences around the world once again portraying his vision and creativity as a director. Visualizing the "end of the world" concept was no easy task, for sure. Great cast, mind-blowing sequence shots combined with visual effects left me amazed and breathless. I can´t say I have ever seen any movie alike, probably because there has never been one. As a human being, I strongly urge, recommend everybody to watch this movie. You definitely won´t regret it.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra - (2009)

"Extremely Predictable."A weak script and predictable dialogues. The only thing that really saves this movie is the cast and action sequences with the whole light and magic and special effects. A great summer blockbuster to go watch with the family.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - (2009)

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen in three words: "Just Another Blockbuster." Transformers Revenge of The Fallen lacks a good script. The entire story for that matter. In summary, I suposse youngsters now a days prefer movies with the whole light and magic concept instead of one with actual drama, action, "the works." It seems most of the younger generation in part don´t show much interest nowadays for decent movies unless they´re movies packed with loads of special effects. I have to give Michael Bay credit for one thing though: "Your one damn good Advertiser!" Congratulations once again.

Ice Age 3: (2009)

To put it in two words: "Nothing Special." The first franchise of Ice Age was outstanding. The Second one, reasonable. The Third one, dissapointing.

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

The Shawshank Redemption ( 1994): ‘’Nostalgic and Timeless’’

One of the most fantastic and intriguing films I´ve ever seen. This movie is definitely in my top 10 favorites. The Shawshank Redemption could be considered an instant cult movie of the 20th century. It’s a true piece of art. I can’t think of any negative or constructive comments to say about this movie. The movie is filled with an ensemble cast. According to Rotten Tomatoes, it received a boast rating of: 9.3/10 out of 1,277,470 votes. Besides having a brilliant cast, the plot and script of the movie over all is simply outstanding. You can’t help but wonder what will happen next. I've provided a link of the film below. As always, enjoy! J

The Dreamers - (2003)

The Dreamers (2003): ‘’A True Masterpiece’’

What can I say about this Film? This work of art truly deserves every bit of recognition. A movie that captivates the audience from beginning to end with its exuberating art, witty dialogues as well as mesmerizing images leaving any good film spectator intrigued and dazzled. The story depicts three young film enthusiasts in search of a dream and an ideal in life. There really isn´t much to say about this film, or better yet there is: "A True Masterpiece."

Bertolucci really out did himself in this one with an ensemble cast! I can’t even begin to express how much I enjoyed the script, the acting, photography, production, direction and movie over all. What a rendition indeed. I don’t know what else to say except maybe, kudos! If you haven’t seen this movie, go to your couch and order it on Netflix, amazon, VOD, etc. You won’t regret it. I’ve provided a link of the movie trailer below. Enjoy. J

''The Knowing:'' (2009)

The Knowing (2009): ‘’Two Thumbs Down.’’

"The Knowing" is by far one of the worst movies that I've recently seen. The movie strongly emphasizes scientific controversies. Apparently, it also mixes together science along with biblical references. Ergo, the solar flares scene towards the end of the film can be widely regarded as somewhat of a reference to the apocalypse, A.K.A ‘’End of Planet Earth.’’

However, what really caught my attention was the ending scene. Caleb Koestler, (Chandler Canterbury) Nicholas Cage´s son in the movie appears running towards a tree with "Abby" daughter of Rose (Diana Wayland) that ironically dies in the movie as well. Despite the fact that this scene is set to portray both characters running towards the ‘’Tree of Life,’’ it contradicts other references while bringing up some questions and uncertainty. One cannot help but remain indulged. However, it’s all very confusing. Thus, if one were to look at this through a biblical perspective, the scene’s intent is to depict some sort of a biblical reference towards "Adam and Eve" repopulating the so called "new earth."

The chronological order of the script is horrendous. This is by far one of Nicholas Cage’s worse acting performances and terrible choice of movie cast. I’m not surprised that the movie received a mere 42% approval out of 100% according to Rotten Tomatoes. I really expected a little more out of this Sci-fi Thriller. I've provided a link of the trailer below for any of you spectators interested in getting a better glimpse.
